Sofia works on AI uplift and previously co-founded Learning Alliance, which brought evidence-based teaching practices to educators in sub-Saharan Africa. She left quantum cryptography work in Spain in 2021 and later completed a master's degree in Data, Economics and Design of Policy at MIT. She transitioned out of Learning Alliance in 2025.
