Co-founder and Research Lead at the AI Futures Project

Eli co-founded the AI Futures Project, where he is Research Lead. He specialises in forecasting AI capabilities and is a lead author on the AI Futures Model. He also co-founded and advises Sage, which develops the AI Village. He previously worked as a software engineer at Ought on Elicit, an AI-powered research assistant, and co-created TextAttack, a Python framework for adversarial examples in text, as well as the RAFT benchmark. He co-leads Samotsvety Forecasting and ranks second on the RAND Forecasting Initiative's all-time leaderboard. He writes that he works to improve outcomes from superhuman AGI because he thinks it is humanity's most important problem.
